Let’s take a look at how the stopping starts.
Something happens. It causes you to doubt. Your subconscious scans for someone to blame. You doubt yourself or someone else. Doubt turns to worry. What if… You awfulize. Worry turns to fear. Fear gets bigger. Your subconscious wants to keep you safe.
How do you turn that around?
We are the only species on earth that can choose our environment. Choice is the first step. Nothing happens without a decision. Gratitude is where to start. Notice when you feel doubt. Immediately find something about the situation to be grateful for. Even if it is – I am grateful I noticed my doubt.
Ask – how can I see this differently. Reframe the doubtful thought to support where you want to go.
Then ask – what can I do today to reinforce my new thought. Take that action.
Repeat as needed.
