People who take time have lower stress, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life, and more motivation to achieve goals. As a business owners, we may say things like once I have 3 more clients then I can take time off. Or once I finish this proposal, then I can take time off.

Here are 3 of the benefits of taking time off that Forbes mentions.
Improves heart health
Taking regular time off could help reduce the risk for metabolic syndrome—a cluster of health issues including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess belly fat and abnormal cholesterol levels.
Stress raises levels of certain hormones, such as cortisol and adrenaline. In the short term, this can be helpful, triggering the “fight or flight” response that helps you deal with immediate threats. But over time, chronic stress can increase your risk for health issues, including heart disease.
Taking time off improves the capacity to learn. When your brain is completely relaxed, it consolidates knowledge and brainpower.

For those of you who may be stressed about the thought of taking time off, know it doesn’t have to be a long time. It could be a 20 minute walk or sitting with your eyes closed for 15 minutes.
Whatever you can do to get your mind off things at least once a day.
