Will You Dance This Holiday Season?

I see the holidays as kind of a dance.

The sway between peace and stress.

You have peace in knowing the meaning behind the holiday. Whether it is religious or just spending fun times with friends and family. Or both.

Then there is the stress of getting it done. Finding the right present. Preparing the right food. Maneuvering through the crowds.

I recently found myself in this dance.

I had to shop at the mall and shop at the grocery store.

I like to plan. My plan was to wait until I thought everyone was done at the grocery store.

I got things done around the house and then headed out.

Mall. Then groceries.

I get close to the mall. You guessed it, traffic.

At this point, I had a dance move to choose. Peace. Stress. After my initial huh, I chose peace.

I quickly found what I was looking for. On sale. Bonus.

Off to checkout. Yep. Line.

In the past, I would have started walking around looking for a shorter line. I took the peace dance move. Waiting in line, I found a perfect present for my sister. Bonus.

On to the grocery store… WHAT! After my initial “YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE!” moment, I chose peace.

I found what I needed, found a short line. Done. Whew!

Vibrant Living Tip

Here’s what I learned…

At any given moment, we have 2 types of dance moves we can make. Peace or stress. Whichever we choose won’t really change the circumstance. It will change how we feel and how others feel being around us.

Notice and consciously choose how the holiday dance will go for you.

Vibrant Living Take Away

I invite you to dance this holiday season. Enjoy every step. Have fun and choose peace.

Until next time...

Dream Bravely.
Act Boldly.
Live Vibrantly!
