I was in a bad mood today.
A friend and Partner in Believing tried all kinds of motivational tricks on me.
She finally said to me – “My prescription for you is laughter. Find a funny video or movie and keep watching it until you feel better.”
That did it!
Here are just some of the reasons why…
Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.
Laughter reduces stress hormones. Laughter reduces stress hormones quickly which helps in reducing the feelings of stress.
Laughter improves your health. Laughter improves the immune system, lowers blood pressure, helps more oxygen reach the brain and improves the operation of your heart.
And my favorite… Laughter burns calories. Laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn approximately 40 calories.
In other words laughter is a drug that has positive side effects.
