Is multitasking your go to method when you have a lot to do?
I invite you to reconsider that idea.
Research says that there is no such thing as multitasking; what you’re actually doing is switch tasking, which is less effective.
Even when you are trying, you are not multitasking you are just switching from one thing to another and cognitively doing both poorly.
By the way, when you are switching your IQ goes down by 10 points.
Vibrant Living Tip
What is the alternative?
Uni-tasking, which is the opposite of multitasking. Multitasking can actually cost your productivity. So today you will learn what uni-tasking is and how you can use it to move you forward.
Uni-tasking means to focus on the one task you are doing. Focusing completely on one task at a time. If you uni-task, you will find yourself more alert, more creative, and more relaxed with better ideas.
Focus on only one thing at a time. You can only do one thing at a time anyway, so you might as well do it well. When you choose to focus on only one thing at a time you will produce more quality work and do it stress free.
Try it this week. Focus on one task for a certain amount of time or until it is done.
