Do You Decide Quickly?

In the Decision chapter of “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill says:

“Accurate analysis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure, disclosed the fact that lack of decision was near the head of the list.”

“Indecision is a habit... “

and:

“Analysis of several hundred people who had accumulated fortunes well beyond the million dollar mark, disclosed the fact that every one of them had the habit of reaching decisions promptly (i.e. quickly), and of changing these decisions slowly, if, and when they were changed. “

“Those who reach decisions promptly and definitely, know what they want, and generally get it. “

These are 2 sides of the same coin.

If you are more prone to the first set of quotes, are you ready to change that habit?

The “Decision” booklet by Mary Morrissey lists 5 steps to become a better decision-maker. They are:

1)  Create a vision of what you would love

Your heart’s desires are your greatest assets. Pay attention to what you are longing for and daydreaming about.

    2)  Fall in love with an intention

When you do this, it is as if you have sent a net out into the Universe telling it exactly what you want.

    3)  Mentally rehearse the life you want

By rehearsing your vision in your mind, you are elevating your vibration to a higher frequency. You are keeping it in the forefront of your mind, which makes it more powerful.

    4)  Make a decision “in the now

Each moment you have gives you a new opportunity to make new decisions and instantly change the path of your life.

    5)  Start now! Do what you can, from where you are, with what you have

Conditions will probably never be perfect, but it’s important to take a step right now, despite any conditions you may be facing

I invite you to practice these steps and see how making small decisions can help make the big ones easier.

Vibrant Living Tip

Notice your decision making this week. Do you make decisions or avoid them. If you find yourself avoiding, use the 5 step process above. For a big decision, you may need to use all 5. I would recommend using just 5 for smaller everyday decisions.

Vibrant Living Take Away

The best way to change a habit, in this case the decision habit, is to Start Now!
