Fear and depression are signs you are thinking/living in the past.

Worry and anxiety are awfulizing the future.

Here are some ways to move into the present moment and experience peace -

  • Meditate. There any many types of meditation. Find ways to clear your mind. Peace will follow.
  • Mindful exercise. Here are some ways to mediate while you exercise. Yoga. Tai chi. Qigong. All of these you can learn to do at home.
  • Play with a child. Children are fun and creative in the moment. Let them show you how.
  • Have fun with an animal. Dogs and cats each have their own way of keeping you focused on them and not yourself.

Noticing how you are feeling and shifting in the moment is the first step toward being peace.

    Good one…..life keeps dragging you into the anxiety ridden future which makes you pine for the past and simpler times…..it is hard to stay in the present and stay at peace. I see the steps to formulate an action plan and be actively focused on it….but…How do you react perfectly to keep from being dragged?

      It’s a moment to moment thing. Notice your thoughts. Notice your feelings. Are you thoughts and feelings in alignment with your vision? If not, shift your thoughts and feelings. Use the AIRR Method. It takes practice. The more you notice and shift in the moment, the easier it gets.
