Success

Success is not a destination, it’s a journey.

Zig Ziglar

A couple great quotes about success by Zig Ziglar. If you have never heard of Zig Ziglar, I encourage you to look him up.

What does success mean to you. I remember after I started my first corporate job, the first time I felt as though I had “made it.” I love NYC and especially Broadway. I read that Katharine Hepburn was leaving “The West Side Waltz.” I called and bought a ticket, reserved my hotel and plane. And thought – “I Made it!” In other words, I’m successful. At the time, success meant being able to call and make those reservations whenever I wanted to.

It was a journey getting to that place. I received a BA in Psychology and found that jobs were not out there just waiting for me when I graduated. Fall. I bounced back by receiving an MS in Computer Science. Going from a BA in Psychology to an MS in Computer Science was a journey. I had to take 7 classes before I could apply to graduate school. 2 years after that, I graduated.

Over the years, I have had many more falls and bounces. Each time I bounced back higher. Why? I never considered the fall a failure. It’s a stepping stone. It was a way to look around and be creative and ask – what would I love now. And bounce in that direction.

What fall is going on in your life right now. Are you ready to bounce? Bounce high!
