New You in 2022!

Edit Lovejoy Pierce quote about new year's

It’s a new year.

What can you do to make it your best yet?

I invite you to take a kind glance back on 2021…

Without judgement.

What could you have done better? Write it all down on a piece of paper. Spend a half hour or so. Then burn it. In a safe way, of course. Let it go.

Now, write down all the things you did that you are happy about. No matter how small. Again, spend a half hour or so.

Look at each item on the list. Really feel what it felt like to accomplish each. Find a fun way to celebrate each.

It is sometimes easy to concentrate on what we didn’t do and miss all the wonderful things we did do…

I was at an event one January. The facilitator asked everyone to share their accomplishments for the previous year. I went into panic mode. Thinking, I didn’t accomplish ANYTHING! As we went around the table. People mentioned what that did. For each person there was at least one thing where I thought – I did that.

You see, I didn’t accomplish one thing on my list. And because of that my mind went to – you didn’t do anything.

ONE THING.

I let one thing allow me to feel like a failure for the entire year!

Vibrant Living Tip

Look at your success list. After reading my story, is there anything you can add. Maybe, look at friends or colleagues and see if they accomplished anything that you did too. Add it to your list. Spend time celebrating each. No matter how small.

From this place ask - What would I love for 2022? What would you love to do, be, have, give, or create if age, gender, time, money, education and experience were not restrictions. Be open to new possibilities. Write everything that comes to you without editing.

Now pick the top 3-5. Ones that really give you energy. Yes, I would love that. Write them on a 3X5 card. Carry it with you. Look at it a couple times each day. Feel the feeling of it happening.

Next, expand each. Describe each in vivid, vibrant detail. Write it down. Use all 5 senses. Read this often.

After reading your vision ask - What step can I take to move me in this direction? Put the step in your calendar and do it. Celebrate each step you take.
