I Don’t Want To!

“Always go with the choice that scared you the most, because that's the one that is going to help you grow.”
Caroline Myss

Two things happened today where I thought – “I don’t want to…” along with a pouty face… The first was my Contemplative Writing class. The second was this blog…

“I don’t want to” is a signal that this is something I really need to do. It is my paradigm. My fear factor pretending it’s trying to protect me. When in reality it is keeping me from moving forward with my vision.

Last week I was in a bad mood just before my Contemplative Writing class. Yes, even life coaches can have less than vibrant moods… 😀 I wrote about it. That’s what that kind of writing is all about. Since then, I shifted my mindset. I feel great today. And then I hear – “I don’t want to…” Followed by – “Remember how you felt last week.” Sure sign my ego would rather have me be miserable than follow through with my commitments. I attended class. Had a great writing session and received wonderful feedback.

As for this blog… I have been writing a weekly blog for just over 3 years. This “I don’t want to…” was followed by – “You’ve been doing this for 3 years. You deserve a break.” As you can see, I didn’t listen. I hope you think it’s worth my getting over that paradigm.

Vibrant Living Tip – Pay attention to your internal signal about doing something. Notice without judgment. Is it a paradigm or something else. The only reason you will listen to that voice, and not do it, is if something better comes along. If it’s not something better – just do it!
