Do You Feel Like An Imposter?

Quote by Neale Donald Walsch about not being worried about approval by others.

I hear this quite often… I don't deserve it... I feel like a fake… what if they find out…

I used to say that myself.

It’s one of the ways our ego tries to dissuade us. Try to keep us safe. Keep us from changing. Keep us from moving forward. The great unknown is way too scary for our ego, so it tries everything in its power to stop us. And it knows us so well, it knows exactly what to say… you’re a fake… what if they find out…

I invite you to ask what Byron Katie loves to say: “Is it True?”

How do you put those meddling voices to rest?

Confidence. Trust. Knowing that you are more than you can imagine.

Vibrant Living Tip

Here are two things you can do to boost your confidence and learn to trust yourself and live vibrantly.

Affirmations

I started my self-help journey some 30 odd years ago by saying affirmations.

What I did was make a list of all the things I wanted to change. Negative comments. Reasons why I was an imposter. Then I turned them around and made them what I wanted.

I got up a half hour early and read them before I even got out of bed. The really interesting part? I had more time in the morning. And I felt great!

I invite you to try this. Either create your own affirmations or borrow them from someone else. Like Louise Hay in “You Can Heal Your Life.”

AIRR Method

The AIRR Method, like oxygen, can breathe new life into your thoughts and your life.

Here is an overview of the steps. See more details here…

Awareness - bring awareness to your current habitual ways of thinking. Notice the words you say to yourself.

Interrupt - Whenever you find yourself saying these words, use a powerful pattern interrupt.

Release - then release the old, negative way of thinking

Replace - replace it with a new, more empowering thought.

Vibrant Living Take Away

When you hear that voice of doubt… Stop. Ask – is it true? Answer NO! Then reframe those thoughts to support you. Knowing you are way more than the fear, doubt, or worry your ego can produce as so-called imposter fact.

Until next time...

Dream Bravely.
Act Boldly.
Live Vibrantly!
