Comparison Despair

When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you.
– Lao Tzu

What will the neighbors think? How many times have you heard that. How many times have you said that. This statement doesn’t just apply to your home or neighborhood. It also applies to you. Any time we look outside ourselves for approval, it is a version of – what would the neighbors think.

What keeps you from achieving your goals. For many of us, it is comparison despair. This is one of the ways our paradigms keep us from moving forward. Distraction. As long as you are looking at what others are doing, you don’t notice what you are NOT doing. Another is dissuasion.

When I was younger, I thought I didn’t have goals. Yet I achieved many things. So, I must have had goals. Just not planned. I was living by default. A let’s just see what happens life. Now I know better. I have a vision. Based on what I would love. I have written, scheduled goals. I am accomplishing greater results with less effort. And more importantly, I am living by design. I take the steps & move closer to my dream/vision with each step.

Instead of comparing myself to others, I celebrate their accomplishments. And when I see them successfully doing things I want to do, I emulate them. I ask for advise.

I can help you do the same. Sign up for a complementary Vision Discovery Assessment. In a 30 minute phone call we can look at where you are, where you would love to be and the next most important step to get you there…
