What I Love

I spoke on the Lifestyle Business Summit last week.

As I was thinking about the summit, I was contemplating about what a lifestyle business meant.

Some people started their business as an away from motivation…
Away from corporate lifestyle.
Away from education lifestyle.

Others started their business as a toward motivation…
Purpose driven business/lifestyle.
Service driven business/lifestyle.

I started mine by bringing a symbol of what I love into it.

These are the three logos I’ve had.

When I started my computer consulting business, I went to a graphics designer and said: I want a logo of a sailing computer.

He kinda shook his head and said: Why. They have nothing to do with each other.

My answer: I love sailing. Sailing is a passion of mine. I have been sailing since I was 8. I have been on a boat in every country I have visited in the world. I get sailboat presents. People who know me say: I saw a sailboat and thought of you. I wanted people to make that same connection with me via my logo.

I got my sailing computer, as you can see.

I continued the theme when I started my life coaching business. I worked with women over 40 in that what’s next phase. There I am in the second logo, being the strong mast supporting my clients moving forward. Smoothly sailing into their future.

When I made the shift to working with entrepreneurs, I didn’t do that.

In working with Stephanie Kennedy for my updated branding, she asked: why?

Thus, my third logo.

And I have been using sailing analogies lately too.
